Heavy and face-melting, free improvisation/free jazz wall of energy, and physical approach performance with drone/noise elements. Something pounding and dark is coming out from the dungeons…

TEUFELSKELLER (which literally means “devil's dungeon”) came to life in late 2020 in free improv/free jazz underground of Moscow, when Anton Ponomarev (sax/electronics), Konstantin Korolev (bass/electronics), and Andrey Kim (drums) came together to create the harshest and the most devastating improvisational stuff they ever played. Now it is a creature that becomes more powerful with every step of live performances and is ready to unleash its debut record.

The first three live acts took place in Moscow in 2021 and now the first self-titled album is going to be released by WV Sorcerer Productions (FR) in 2022. When free jazz meets extreme metal and industrial noise – the devil is coming out from its dungeon, Teufelskeller appears.

Anton Ponomarev is a member of punk-avant-jazz-noise outfits (P/O Massacre, Dødsdromen, Speedball Trio, Catatonic Leisure, etc.), Konstantin Korolev is an extreme metal enthusiast and a free improv maniac (7 H.Target, Passéisme, Paroxysm Unit, Bureau Berlin, Wombripper, etc.) and Andrey Kim is a full-on electronic artist (8hz) and drums explorer (Iskromët, Usssy, SKY, Sober Head, etc.).

- Anton Ponomarev
(Reed/brass instruments and electronics player based in Zurich)

Works in the field of free improvised music, noise, power-electronics, experimental and punk jazz.
Apart from different collaborations with musicians all over the world (Merzbow, Alex Buess, Tim Dahl, Marc Urselli, Lasse Marhaug, Ryoko Ono, Toshinori Kondo, Balazs Pandi, Paal Nilssen-Love, Ingebrigt Håker Flaten, Burton Greene, Peter Ole Jorgensen, Sainkho Namtchylak and many others), he also plays with Pussy Riot.

- Konstantin Korolev
(Bass player and vocalist based in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia)

Working primarily in extreme genres of metal and improvisational/experimental music: black metal, death metal, grindcore, free improvisation, free jazz, but also in kraut/psychedelic rock.

- Andrey Kim
(Drummer and sound engineer based in Moscow)

Was born in 1992 in Moscow. Started to play drums when he was 10.
He plays in many underground free improv, prog-rock, punk bands like Oblomok Unitaza, Spray-Sisters/Tishihate, Iskromet, Akmelika, Zlurad, Drumazhur, Usssy, and many others.
His solo electronics, DJ project is called 8Hz. Andrey also works as a sound engineer in Moscow music clubs and museums.
